{"id":78316,"date":"2015-10-03T18:43:27","date_gmt":"2015-10-03T22:43:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/donnadrewsawyer.com\/?page_id=78316"},"modified":"2015-12-09T15:58:06","modified_gmt":"2015-12-09T20:58:06","slug":"resources","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/donnadrewsawyer.com\/?page_id=78316","title":{"rendered":"Resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the joys of writing fiction is that you get to imagine and create a world where you can use the real <em>and<\/em> the imagined to tell your story.\u00a0The primary characters in <strong>Provenance<\/strong> all come from my imagination\u2014Hank, Maggie, Lance, Charlotte, Del, Francis, James, Emma, Mina,\u00a0Winsome, Ed\u00a0and Philmore are fictional characters who only come alive on the Provenance&#8217;s pages. Throughout the book I have my fictional characters interact with real people from the past that I cast to play fictional roles in my characters&#8217; lives.<\/p>\n<p>For anyone\u00a0interested in knowing more about the historic personalities that I used to add depth and color to my fictional characters,\u00a0I put together information and a list of\u00a0links to books that I used to learn about them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/donnadrewsawyer.com\/?page_id=78319\">Historic Characters\u00a0in <em>Provenance<\/em><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I did the same for some of the places in <em>Provenance<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0The places my characters lived and visited\u00a0are also a combination of the real and the imagined.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/donnadrewsawyer.com\/?page_id=78329\">Historic Places in <em>Provenance<\/em><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Racial discrimination was written into the law and\u00a0strictly enforced making the lives of people of color very different from the white men who wrote the law. I created a resource\u00a0page on Interesting Facts gives the reader some insight into some of the social phenomenon that the book deals with that may not be familiar to some\u00a0readers.
